Snopass Information...

01

Why a coloured plate?

A highly visible plate will help Conservation officers & other enforcement agencies to readily identify who has a Snopass.

02

If I don't have a Snopass how much do I have to pay?

An Annual Snopass costs $150.00. A 7-Day Snopass costs $75.50. If you ride 500 kms per season on designated trails, the annual snopass of $150.00 breaks down to paying 0.30 cents per km travelled. The more you ride the better your value becomes. Fuel and oil savings is another cost benefit of riding groomed trails.

04

Out-Of-Province Snowmobilers

If you are not a Manitoba resident you must purchase a Snopass to ride the trails in Manitoba. You can purchase either an Annual Snopass or a Seven-Day Snopass. You must show proof of ownership and a valid registration from another jurisdiction that includes a minimum of $500,000 third-party liability coverage. An Annual Snopass allows you to ride on designated trails until April 30.

Did you know that Saskatchewan snowmobiliers are welcome to enjoy Snoman's trail system? In the Crown Lands Act, the requirement for a Snopass does not apply as long as the person's snowmobile has current Saskatchewan Government Insurance registration.

Manitobans are also welcome to enjoy Saskatchewans trail system! In the Snowmobile Act, all Saskatchewan and out-of-province registered sleds can ride on all Saskatchewan designated trails with a current valid registration from home province or state.

05

Are Snopasses Mandatory?

If you wish to travel on designated Snoman trails in Manitoba, you must by law have a valid Snopass and a valid Off-Road Vehicle plate on your snowmobile. Natural Resource Officers and the RCMP patrol the trails regularly. A snowmobiler found to be on a designated trail without a valid Snopass will be fined over $480.00.

06

What is the fine if I ride the trails without a Snopass?

A snowmobiler found to be on a designated trail without a valid Snopass will be fined over $480.00.

07

How does this apply to 7 day passes and out of province snowmobilers?

Stickers are available for 7 day passes and annual Snopasses for out of province snowmobilers. The coloured Snopass plates are for annual Snopasses only.

Looking for a host club to join? Look no further ... we would love to have you come out and enjoy the fun.

Northern Lites Snowmobile Club Inc. is a non profit organization and a member of Snoman Inc., located in the Interlake area. The club was founded in 1995 and grooms and maintains 115 miles of trail. We have three warm up shacks in different areas of our trail. All are complete with wood and have firepits outside.

Visiting snowmobilers from out of province/country will need a SnoPass to use Snofund trails. To travel on designated SnoFund trails, all snowmobiles are required by law to have a valid SnoPass. Manitoba Natural Resources working in co-operation with local snowmobile asscoiations and the R.C.M.P. will be actively patrolling trails and conducting spot checks.

Membership in Northern Lites Snowmobile Club Inc has a cost of $20.00 and can be obtained by contacting Norah Thibodeau (Membership Director), by coming out to one of our meetings and applying in person, or by printing out the membership form below and mailing it in.

Cheques should be made out to Northern Lites Snowmobile Club.

Why should I join a club? I pay for my Snofund pass and that is my support!

The Snopass program is helping local clubs by providing subsidies to maintain grooming equipment, expand trails, and improve existing trails.

While the Snofund provides some financial support, local clubs still supply the time and additional funds to groom and maintain trails. Without local clubs to groom the trails, there will not be any trails.

What can a club do for me?

The club executive and members keep informed on what is happening in the industry and work with local governments, RCMP and businesses to keep the trail system in place. You can get together with others who share your interest in the sport of snowmobiling at our regular monthly club meetings, organized snowmobile rides, and several other events during the season.

Your club membership includes membership in Snoman and allows you to have a say in the sport of snowmobiling, both locally and in Manitoba!
